Preventative Care
Welcome to Riverside Dental Care in New York City
Our mission at Riverside Dental Care is to work as a team to help you and your family maintain perfect dental health. We don’t think that’s too ambitious because we know how to help you achieve this goal. The same way we work together within the office, we will work with you and each member of your family to educate all of you on caring for your teeth. In this way, we can help you prevent problems that could have the potential to permanently damage your dental health.

The Benefits of Regular Preventative Care
- Little cavities can be spotted while they are still little. Fixing cavities while they are small costs less, takes less time and requires simpler treatment. A small cavity may not require any anesthetic for you to stay comfortable throughout your treatment. And it won’t have a chance to become a big cavity or worse yet, a reason to need root canal therapy.
- For our teenaged patients, seeing you twice a year means that we can spot problems or infections forming around wisdom teeth as soon as they show up.
- If you start grinding your teeth at night, you won’t have the chance to create wear and tear on your teeth because we’ll spot the damage and help you get a night guard to prevent more harm.
- Many kinds of damage such as cavities, cracks or damaged dental work which needs replacement may not be visible to you. We have little mirrors and the intraoral camera that helps us show you what is happening in every corner of your mouth.
- Professional cleanings keep tartar from accumulating on your teeth. Removing it at regular intervals is a vital step in protecting your teeth from decay.
- Your hygienist will also polish away superficial stains, keeping your smile brighter.
- This is a chance to ask questions about enhancements to your smile. Do you want a whiter smile? Straighter teeth? Discuss these issues with your hygienist during your preventative care visits.
- Our hygienists are dedicated to your education. They’ll know if you’re brushing properly and long enough. They will also know if you’re flossing. If they see a way for you to improve your at-home care procedure, they will educate you on why and how you can improve it.
