What Exactly Is a Dental Implant?

Think about the way your natural teeth are shaped. There is a white crown above the gum line, and it is supported by the root of your tooth that extends down into the gum and bone. A dental implant is constructed very similarly.

This procedure works both for complete dentures and partial dentures. The first step would be to place dental implants in the jaw bone. When all teeth are missing from the top or bottom of the mouth, four or more implants are placed in either the upper or the lower jaw bone to support an entire denture. Then we manufacture a denture that has attachments that will fit into the top of each implant. We can create dentures that either attach permanently or that can be removed each day for cleaning.
